Philadelphia Museum of Art Surprise Proposal Photos | Mark & Kristine

November 30, 2017

Mark surprised his now fiance Kristine with one of the best surprise proposals at the Philadelphia Museum of Art!  Little did Kristine know that their yearly trip to center city Philadelphia would be the backdrop for Mark getting down on one knee and asking for her hand in marriage.  Every year Mark, Kristine, and his family go on the Rocky Balboa Run.

It ends on the art museum for a run up the steps.  Afterwards, Mark and Kristine headed back to their hotel and got ready for a day full of sites and an art museum tour.  As Kristine and Mark came out of the museum, Mark’s excitement was building, Kristine was busy looking all around at how beautiful the museum looked…All of a sudden she looks back and Mark is down on one knee!  She had a sneaky suspicion something special was in the works, but this was part1!  Mark and Kristine were so excited as he grabbed her and twirled her around on the top of the Art Museum steps overlooking the Philadelphia skyline.  They spotted me and we finished the proposal photos around the top of the museum before they headed off to their hotel! While they were getting refreshed at the hotel, Mark & Kristine’s families were arriving at Fork in Old City to surprise her!  Kristine’s family from England had flown over, and it truly was an elaborate plan full of SO much love from every corner of the map.  You’ll see that Kristine’s face is priceless and I can imagine these will be treasured photos of that initial excitement of uniting two families to one!

[…] It was meaningful to them both to start their engagement story in center city Philadelphia.  While they were home visiting their families, Graham decided this was the moment.  They were staying at the Hotel Sofitel Philadelphia and walked over to the river.  I spent a few moments clearing people away from the spot and many of those people waited watching out for the proposal!!  It was so exciting to capture their fall proposal overlooking the Schuylkill River dog park!  Graham knelt down right in front of one of the last bright orange and yellow fall tree left in the city, what are the chances?! Applause and cheers were heard from all the people passing by, it was electric.Graham and Katy took a few minutes after the proposal happened to walk around the Schuylkill River bank with me.  Their connection and love was palpable and made it so easy to capture gorgeous engagement photos in just a few moments!  Katy’s new oval diamond ring with a diamond halo fit her hand perfectly and was SO sparkly!  We passed their first apartment where they started dating at the 2400 Chestnut street.  Heading down the river to a spot where the 30th street station could be seen and ended their sweet fall proposal photos here.  Congratulations Graham & Katy!Oh yes! The last few yellow and orange fall trees left perfectly framing these two beautiful people right after their proposal on the Schuylkill river banksThe Schuylkill river right below the market street bridge on the way to 30th Street station has some of the prettiest golden glowing light!
