Last year we traveled to Italy for our second year in a row!! We stayed in Positano for a few days and then headed onto Rome! We began our adventure climbing stair after stair into the wrong Air B&B, note to self, check with the host to make sure she’s the right “Maria”! I highly recommend using Air B&B even when traveling to other countries, just be sure to read all the small print, extra fees, and double/triple check the neighborhoods in which the home is located. I think it was around a total of 193 stairs we climbed just to get to our final b&b, but it was worth it! This 2 bedroom gorgeous flat overlooked Positano, the view was to die for…We changed out of our drenched clothes and quickly headed to the beach, relaxed and sat by the beach for dinner. The next days we spent traveling over to Capri island on the ferry, took a sea sick journey just short of the blue grottos, and finished our Amalfi stay driving around exploring the rest of the coast with Freddie’s drone.
We decided to actually cut our stay shorter in the Amalfi coast and spend more time in Rome. I am SO happy we did this because we absolutely fell in love with Trastevere and were able to sight see a bunch more. The Amalfi Coast is gorgeous, however it can be seen and enjoyed in 3 days tops! When you go to the Amalfi coast, be sure to visit La Tagliata…It was and will always be one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life. We spent almost 3 hours being wined and dined by Mama and her family. It felt like we were in the clouds in their living…maybe Italy’s form of heaven on earth?! I hope to return to Mama’s kitchen on the peak of the mountain overlooking Positano. It’s a bit of a hike up the mountain to get to La Tagliata, but thanks to Freddie’s friends’ recommendation, we found it.
