There are so many incredible Philadelphia wedding venue’s to explore. The most charming and elegant venues that top’s the list in my mind is The Union League. Nestled right on Broad street just a few blocks south of the City Hall. The views from the front steps will blow you away and make the perfect spot for wedding portraits! The Union League is a private venue so you must know someone who is a member to sponsor you. WELL worth it, because each room is just a bit charming than the next. The front fire place room, library, marble hallway and steps. The details are incredible throughout the venue. Michelle Christensen was nice enough to give me a full tour of each room including their private wine cellar, restaurants, and kitchen that covers a full city block! I have always loved The Union League’s facade but now have fallen even more in love with all the interior charm and historical details. I look forward to photographing more weddings at The Union League next year!
“The League House occupies an entire city block in the center of Philadelphia’s commercial and cultural district. The building is representative of the classic French Renaissance style, with a brick and brownstone façade and dramatic twin circular staircases that lead to the main entrance on Broad Street. Built in 1865, the building was added to the National Historic Register in 1979. Approximately one-quarter million square feet in size, the building is spread out over eight floors and has entrances on all sides.
Inside, the traditional décor is accented in rich leather, patinated wood and polished marble. The League’s distinguished collection of art and artifacts adorns the walls and hallways. The collection is a rich chronicle of Philadelphia’s unique imprint upon the American landscape from the 19th century to today and is recognized by historians and art experts as a valuable component of American history.”
