Maria and Jeff’s St John’s College wedding in Annapolis this past Memorial Day weekend was perfection. The last few weeks had been cold, so no one was used to the 90 degree day, but the breeze off the water felt amazing! St John’s College is such an amazing wedding venue, so many charming brick buildings to photograph around. The Great Hall where the ceremony took place is located in McDowell Hall, the oldest building on their campus. The florals from Blossom and Basket Boutique lined the aisle and draped the mantle, creating such a signature floral hanging. Maria walked through the doors alone down the aisle in her Jim Hjelm bridal gown and cathedral veil, meeting Jeff half way and walking together to the alter…Such a powerful statement, hope more of my couples choose to do this because it was really beautiful and so touching. There ceremony officiated by Rev. Bill Cochran from Say I Do Your Way was beyond sweet. I loved all the details about their courtship that he shared with the wedding guests, allowing you to have a peek into their love story. They burst out of The Great Hall with so much excitement! Maria and Jeff had seen each other before the ceremony for their first look out front of McDowell Hall. We headed around the campus, downtown Annapolis to the city dock, and then back up Main Street to the State House. It was Memorial Day weekend, so we had to leave lots of extra time for travel, however we were ahead of schedule. We headed back to St. John’s College campus and Maria and Jeff decided to take a few minutes alone, something I HIGHLY recommend doing. Take a few minutes just to absorb the day! They were introduced into the Edgar T. Higgins Dining Hall inside Randall Hall by Aaron with Chris Laich Music Services. Maria’s grandmother and Jeff’s father gave the toasts and we ended the night with an amazing sunset overlooking College Creek off the Severn River. Maria and Jeff were so happy to run around together, twirl, dance, and Maria even offered to sit down for one of my favorite photos! I wish these two nothing but the best and look forward to watching their families grow. Safe travels on your honeymoon next year for your anniversary!
