New York City Wedding at Angel Orensanz | Charlotte & Jim

Charlotte and Jim’s New York City wedding at Angel Orensanz was full of so many magical details! They spent their morning at Hotel Indigo getting ready with a view of their reception space. The met on the third floor in the midst of friends and took a stroll down the street to a meaningful spot in the city, where Jim’s Dad used to take him, Katz’s Deli!! Katz’s Deli was full of applause and allowed them behind the counter. Such a treat. Vanda High was curating all the details they had invisioned to come to life at Angel Orensanz. Their venue was so magical and all the florals and details they had chose made the space come alive! I always love knowing a little back story to understand the couple, and these two were full of playful, loving, silliness!! Plus I knew Charlotte from summer camp at Camp Ballibay oh so many years ago. I was so so flattered when she called to have me be the person behind the camera for her special day. Hearing about her and Jim’s story and their amazing partnership made me so happy to see my friend loved so much!

They met on OKCupid in 2017. They both can’t remember which of us messaged the other first! Charlotte was intrigued enough by the fact that Jim was wearing bunny rabbit ears in his picture that she agreed to a first date. That date only lasted ~45 minutes because Jim had to work early the next morning. He left so quickly that Charlotte thought he wasn’t interested, but it turns out Jim thought Charlotte wasn’t interested because he thought she didn’t hug him long enough at the end! For the next three weeks they were both traveling for work & personal commitments, but they texted the whole time and each knew the other was interested by the time they got together for our second date.

Charlotte and Jim went and picked out their engagement rings together. Jim officially proposed at the New York Historical Society, where they’d gone on our third date. He surprised Charlotte by inviting their families to a brunch afterwards, including his mom from Tennessee and his sister from North Carolina! It was a very special day.
