Kelly and Luke had their incredibly elegant yet FUN wedding at the Engineering Society of Baltimore (Engineers Club). Mt Vernon is such a gorgeous place to host a wedding and ceremony. Kelly saw her dad first in the Engineers Club foyer. There were so many tears, hugs and sweet gifts exchanged. Then Luke joined Kelly on the first floor near the grand piano and floor to ceiling windows. These two are GORGEOUS humans but are also the sweetest and most playful. It was such a joy being a part of their engagement and love story. I can’t wait to see where life blooms next.
Luke and Kelly met freshman year of college and became good friends for the first year. Then fall of our sophomore year Luke asked Kelly to be his girlfriend. They stayed together all throughout college and were both D1 athletes (Luke football, Kelly lacrosse). After graduation they were long distance for 2.5 years (Luke moved back home to NJ and Kelly went back to MD). Then in November 2020 Luke moved down the Baltimore MD and lived with Kelly and her two roommates. In May 2021 they moved into their first row home together, that following week Luke popped the question in front of their first home together!
Kelly’s Side of the proposal!!-
The day before Luke proposed we had a surprise party for my Mom at our row home. Funny enough, my sister and I had to take my mom out for lunch to keep her distracted, so at lunch I asked both of them “has Luke said anything to you all about proposing” both said no but my Mom secretly knew he would be popping the question the next day!!! The next day started as a usual Sunday, waking up, drinking coffee and getting ready for church. While Luke was putting his shoes on I mentioned to him how I asked my mom and sister about him proposing sometime soon, he laughed and didn’t say anything. But now looking back, I’m sure he was really laughing hard inside as he would propose within the next hour! After church we walked back to our row home when Luke said to me “I think of baseball cards were delivered can you check the mailbox”, I being oblivious kept walking up the steps when Luke went into the mailbox and handed a card to me with my name on it (Luke has always written me hand made cards and I still have all of them). After looking at the card with my name on it I am still so confused with what is happening haha when I opened the card he mentioned how this would be one of the last times calling me Kelly Aquino, and that’s when it hit me….OMG he is proposing. I read the rest of the card and when I was finished he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was absolutely perfect and exactly what Luke wanted, a private location with a meaning behind it – in front of our first row home together.
