Who doesn’t love a good Camp counselor love story that comes full circle at their wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club?!?!?
Ben and Allie grew up going to the same Jewish sleep-away camp, Capital Camps, but never met until Allie’s first year as a counselor in 2014. Allie was working as a camp photographer and Ben was working as a special needs inclusion counselor. They hit it off right away and have been together ever since! This has included: years of long distance while they were both in school, Ben getting his first job after he graduated in New Orleans where Allie was for college, and them both moving to and living in DC together now.
PROPOSAL: (from Allie’s perspective)
Ben planned an amazing proposal and I think I’m still in shock that so many people were in on it and nobody ruined the surprise. A big group of friends, primarily friends from the camp we met at, rented a a house in the mountains under the guise of an early new year’s celebration. We went to Bold Rock brewery and Ben made an excuse for the two of us to go outside. He proposed and one of our talented friends took pictures of the whole proposal. By the time we made it back inside the reserved room in the brewery, members of both of our families had snuck in to celebrate! It was the most surprised I’ve ever been in my entire life and it was so special!
