In 2016 at Saint Francis University, Colleen and Tyler were paired up to put together a presentation. With mutual friends that continued to get them to hang out together, they went out for nachos, and the rest is history. After college, Colleen pursued her Master’s degree in South Carolina, while Tyler began working as a Physical Therapist in Maryland. Despite being in a long distance relationship for two years, Colleen and Tyler continued to visit and support one another in their careers and lives.
In 2020, they bought their first house together in Southern Maryland, where they live with their dog (Bo), cat (Olli), gecko (Marley), and fish (Oscar).
On November 16, 2021, Tyler asked Colleen to marry him at the island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, while on their first cruise together. The two celebrated with Pain Killer cocktails and a day at the beach.
