Some couples stay with you long after the wedding day ends. This winter maternity session in downtown Georgetown was one of those full circle moments that made my photographer heart pause for a beat.
I first met these two while photographing their wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, and it was such an honor to hear from them again as they stepped into this next chapter. Being invited back to document new life events is one of the greatest gifts of this work, a reminder that love keeps unfolding long after the last dance.
We met on a crisp winter afternoon along the Georgetown Canal and waterfront, with soft light reflecting off the water and the city wrapped in its quiet, seasonal calm. Their maternity portraits felt intimate and effortless, full of gentle touches, shared smiles, and that unmistakable glow of anticipation.
The most meaningful part of this session unfolded naturally as we framed their final images with the bridge in the background, the very bridge they used to walk when they were first dating just to see each other. Watching them stand there now, baby on the way, felt like witnessing a love story layered with time, intention, and growth. Where it all began, now holding space for what comes next.
This winter maternity session was equal parts nostalgic and hopeful. A celebration of how far they’ve come, and a quiet honoring of the tiny life about to change everything.
To my couples who invite me back again and again, thank you for trusting me with your stories. It’s magic like this that reminds me why I do what I do 🤍
