At the end of June I decided to plan a spontaneous trip to the beach! I happened to find a beach house that had a cancellation in North Wildwood and we set off the week later for the July 4th week! This was a first for me, renting a beach house and actually turning social media off! It. Was. Amazing!!!!! Half of us were photographers and we even left our cameras at the house for the most part. It really is so important to turn your business brain off once in a while. Recharge. We took a few days at the beach, walked the boardwalk, ate funnel cake, fried oreo’s (ya i’m not gonna hide it!), cooked healthy lunches and dinners together…went for my first bike ride on the beach trails after 15 years of not riding a bike, thanks to bike rentals and ice cream after from Hassles on 21st street!
To say these days were amazing is an understatement. I never realized why families took a beach trip each year, until now. To set aside 5 days to reconnect with your friends and family was just perfect. If you haven’t taken a beach trip longer than 2-3 days with your friends and family recently, then you need to set a date! Set aside 5-7 days and go away, catch up, and share all the stories that facebook & text messages don’t share!
We took day trips to Cape May, Congress Hall, Wildwood, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Wildwood Farmers market, and Heritage Vineyard. I wanted to capture a glimpse of how vibrant & refreshing beach living is, to remind myself that this HAS to be a new tradition! Here’s to 2015 Beach House trip maybe in Cape May, Stone Harbor or Avalon!
Before getting to the Jersey Shore we made a pit stop at a Vineyard wedding venue in Mullica Hills, NJ – Heritage Vineyard! The wines were so good and their peaches were ripe for picking!! What a perfect start to our 2014 beach vaca! (a mix of IPhone and Canon photographs!)
Driving through towns on the outskirts of the shore was sad seeing so many deserted shops and homes.
WE MADE IT!! Jersey Shore here we come!
Of course since I arrived to Wildwood with two of my favorite friends and photographer’s we HAD to scout the area for great photo ops!
