Samantha & Eric met at an Irish bar in Philly, where they danced to 90s music and Eric asked for her number. Though Samantha knew she was moving to Baltimore shortly after, Eric asked her to be his girlfriend and they did long distance for two years! In year three he moved to Baltimore, and together they lived in an apartment in Fed Hill with their dog, a chocolate lab named Duncan.
The week of New Year’s Eve 2020, they took a trip with Samantha’s parents to St. John. On NYE night before dinner, Eric insisted they stop for a photo by the pool overlooking Cruz Bay. Samantha started to walk away (and put her mask back on!) when Eric dropped to one knee. Her mom “screamed, cursed, cried, and fell to the ground in excitement.” Of course, she said yes! And then they walked to dinner and rang in the new year together.
