My travels to Chestnut Hill, PA this week!
Last year I decided to take the month of July to travel, refresh my creativity, and stay in touch with my friends and family! So far I have gone to the Jersey Shore for a beach vaca and now up to Philadelphia and East Hartford, CT!
This was Lilly’s first time actually walking around a downtown area with me. Some of you may know she is a little bit crazyyyy when she sees another dog and gets overly excited! So this was a HUGE accomplishment for her. We started at the Iron Brew House which has delicious signature egg rolls like the Philly Cheesesteak egg rolls. Passed so many local art installations like the Fareway Fresh Artists gallery. An incredible group “empowering young children through art”. Right up my alley! Chestnut Hill seems to be thriving compared to when I was in college in 2007. So many more shops, live music venues, and boutiques than I remember. Bredenbeck’s Ice Cream, Baker Street Bakery, The Stagecrafters Theatre, Drake’s Live Music, Greenology, Green Soul, Chestnut Hill Hotel, The Carriage House, Paris Restaurant, J. McLaughlin, & Roots! It’s a dog friendly town and everyone wanted to stop and love on Lilly, almost every shop had a doggy water dish too! Best stop was happening upon Wendy Concannon’s Fine art Photography studio and meeting Wendy briefly! She used to be a Philadelphia Wedding Photographer and now has scaled back that work and has expanded to an incredible Fine Art Studio space. SOOO beautiful! To see so much local art being sold was definitely inspiring for me. Next stop…SKIPPACK, PA!
I have never seen the Chestnut Hill Hotel but it was gorgeous! Right across the path from Green Soul – “a feel-good, Comfort Food Cafe, that features quality cuisine that is as good for you as it tastes.”Lilly found new friends! I couldn’t bring myself to tell her they weren’t real dogs.Fresh Artists – Fareway galleryLilly was admiring their reflective doors!Chestnut Hill Philadelphia Photographer – Door Series
