From the bride’s perspective: “We actually met on a dating app (Hinge)… we planned our first date in D.C. to go to lunch and watch the Chinese New Year Parade on January 26, 2020 right before the pandemic started. While we did have lunch and watch the parade, we ended up not wanting to leave each other so soon and spent a full 12 hours together on our first date! Our ‘second date’ was meant to be an overnight date since Ryan lived in Maryland and I lived in Virginia, but I ended up staying at Ryan’s house for three nights and met all of his childhood friends at a SuperBowl party (all of them are in the wedding)! For our third date, I took Ryan to his first ever Capitals hockey game (my favorite sport) and one of my high school students was sitting directly behind us with her dad. I introduced Ryan as my boyfriend and we’ve been inseparable since. I always tell Ryan that I knew he was the one for me on our first date, but he started talking about marriage about 6 months in… we moved fast! We bought our first home together a little over a year later in March 2021 and are talking about adopting a dog after the wedding!”
