Jordon surprised Natalie with proposal photographs in Annapolis City Dock and a BEAUTIFUL three stone halo engagement ring!!! She said YES and they were both beaming as it all unfolded. The night was beautiful and warmer than normal in January. As they walked around the docks, Jordon led Natalie to the longest pier where I was hiding to capture the proposal photographs as he got down on one knee…I was hiding pretending to shoot another bridal portrait that was happening at the same time, so Natalie had NO idea what was going on! Jordon knocked this surprise proposal in Annapolis outta the park. Natalie had gotten her beautiful maroon dress earlier in the day and it fit her perfectly and popped out on the Annapolis skyline. They headed around the City dock and then ended at Federal House where they first met.
Natalie and Jordon were high school sweethearts. They both went to local South River High School, officially meeting in school at the start of 2010. They dated for the remainder of high school, playing sports and being around each other as much as possible until graduating in 2012. They both loved their time at SRHS as they were able to watch each other grow and spend each day with each other.
During the spring of their senior year, they decided to attend separate colleges. Jordon chose to pursue his passion for lacrosse and play at Hampden-Sydney College, in central Virginia. While Natalie chose to stay local, attending Towson University. Since they were five hours away from each other and both wanted to experience college independently, they decided to separate before departing off to college. During the fall semester, Jordon decided Hampden-Sydney wasn’t the right place for him, so he applied to transfer to the University of Maryland. Towards the end of the fall semester, he found out he’d been accepted to Maryland. Their paths were getting closer and one day Natalie came to his new college to tell him she loved him. They were seeing other people but, a couple of weeks passed and he couldn’t get Natalie off his mind. He wasn’t acting normal and felt like something was missing. In the middle of winter break, he decided that Natalie was the missing piece, the one he always wanted and was meant to be with. Without telling Natalie, he ended things with the other girl he was dating, bought flowers, and showed up at Natalie’s door. Jordon texted her to walk outside and there he was with the bouquet of flowers. She jumped into my arms and they’ve been inseparable ever since! Although it was a bumpy road, they both couldn’t imagine life without the other. Sometimes it takes being apart to truly realize you want to be by their side for the rest of your life!
