I have had this spot on my MUST see list for 2 years now! Travelers from around the world come to see the Santa Barbara Courthouse Mural Room and Gardens, not just me! This place as you will see is to die for gorgeous! One of my sweet close friends Leah had her wedding ceremony and eloped to this very courthouse all the way from southern California! Hundreds come just to get have their Santa Barbara Courthouse wedding ceremony and then head off to other venues in the area for a reception! The details are endless, sculptures, tiling, teal doors, gardens, courtyard! I could have walked around the grounds for hours. You may fall in love with this structure, if you do have your ceremony here, elope, whatever it is pack me in your suitcase I will definitely travel for a Santa Barbara wedding or elopement!
I poked around the courthouse for a bit but had to take time around the streets capturing just how beautiful this city is. Even the bank buildings have that Santa Barbara feel. Or what we call “so California” back home in Maryland! A Spanish Colonial or Mission Revival style that can be seen in most of the downtown area. I fell in love with the architecture, street signs, even the font they use! Yes this is going to sound cheezy, but the city itself is romantic! As a tourist from Maryland seeing this beautiful town for the first time, I know I will be back. It wasn’t enough time to really breathe the local environment in, but the taste I brought home was enough to hold onto, until my next visit!
Time was running out and I was headed to visit a very dear friend in Rancho Cucamonga so I had to head out of Santa Barbara and head down the PCH (pacific coastal highway for all those like me who had NO idea what “the 1” and “the 101” and “the PCH” meant! haha) The highways all have different terminology in California it seemed. On my way to Rancho Cucamonga I stopped off a couple times to take in the incredible views, rolling hills, crashing waves, and MALIBU! Just wait until tomorrow to see the gorgeous soft pastel sunset!
The lady waiting for the bus was definitely suspicious that I was taking her photo, it was so cute how she started to fiddle with things, stood up, and got all antsy just having a camera directed at the door beside her haha! Oh how much fun is street photography?!
