Gretchen & Kent’s Belvedere Historic Owl Bar Wedding was incredibly unique and STUNNING. Every detail that Gretchen and Kent curated flowed so effortlessly. These two have such a special kind of connection, it is so magnetic. When you are around them, you feel their love and watch it shower over everyone who connects with them. I feel it is best to share their “meet-cute” from their perspective. They met in such a fun way in NYC and had a similar whirlwind romance to my wife and I. Love it! Every year I become more and more grateful for my position in capturing peoples love stories. It always reminds me of our own story, love and commitments. I hope that in reading theirs you are brought a bit of warmth and love as well.
We first met in 2019 at a mutual friend’s birthday party in Arlington VA. Gretchen was visiting from NYC and Kent had recently relocated to Arlington by way of Mississippi. It really was pretty simple in hindsight, we were introduced and were very committed within a week ha! We both have pretty different backgrounds and interests, but that’s what keeps us both endlessly entertained and enchanted with each other. We did long-distance back and forth between New York and DC for a little over a year and moved in together when quarantine began.
We got serious very quickly into our relationship and were talking about marriage within a month of dating! Kent managed to wait a year and planned to propose in June of 2020 but once quarantine began, the timing felt right and he proposed. It was a very simple, meaningful proposal at the beginning of a very uncertain time and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Kent proposed March 15th 2020 and the timing worked out so that I could call my mom on her birthday and tell her. She said it was the best birthday present she could ask for.
