A Garden Courtyard Ceremony & French Provincial Blue Details
When crisp fall air meets the historic charm of downtown Easton, Maryland, magic happens—especially at the Tidewater Inn, one of the most iconic wedding venues on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Carly Fuller Photography had the honor of documenting a stunning fall wedding here, where the couple beautifully blended French provincial blue tones, a lush courtyard ceremony, and an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones.

How the couple fell in love is too cute to not share. After meeting these two at a venue open house as they strolled down the beach (weeks before they got engaged) I instantly fell in love with their energy and connection. So I felt extra honored when they reached out after they got engaged to bring me on as their professional photographer to capture their wedding day too!
“As Kevin says, we met the old-fashioned way (on a dating app)! Kevin’s opening line was asking Lauren if it was okay to have ice cream for dinner (nothing has changed!).
While chatting we quickly realized we were both going on big trips around the same time – Kevin was accepted as an officer in the Air National Guard and would be going to Alabama for 2 months for training; Lauren was heading to Italy and Austria for 7 weeks to work remotely and live the (temporary) digital nomad lifestyle. We agree to meet for a drink before we both left on our respective trips, and the rest is history!
We stayed in touch despite the time difference over face time and text, sending each other pictures and updates of our very different trips.
One memorable face time date, Lauren was in Vienna and Kevin face timed her, and she flipped the camera around so he could ‘walk’ through the streets with her. He helped navigate her to a wine bar where she made friends with a group of Austrians who demanded to talk to Kevin to figure out why he wasn’t there with her!
Once we were both reunited in Maryland, we picked up right where we left off 🙂
Lauren is walking down the aisle to Edelweiss since Sound of Music was one of her favorite movies growing up and Austria was an important setting in the early ‘virtual’ days of their relationship! Just after Kevin asked Lauren to be his girlfriend, Lauren went to the church in Austria where Maria and Captain Von Trapp were married, and the group she was with jokingly planned out her and Kevin’s wedding there.

Getting Ready at the Tidewater House
Nestled just steps from the Tidewater Inn, the Tidewater House offers the perfect setting for an elegant wedding morning. This historic home, full of natural light and timeless décor, created an intimate and relaxed space for the couple to get ready. The bridal suite provided room for meaningful moments—quiet letter exchanges, a champagne toast, and capturing the anticipation before walking down the aisle.

A Garden Courtyard Ceremony with Chesapeake Charm
The ceremony took place in the Tidewater Inn’s garden courtyard, a private and romantic space surrounded by ivy-covered walls and seasonal blooms. As golden leaves swirled gently on the breeze, the couple exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends under a custom floral arch designed in soft whites and dusty blues.
French provincial blue—the couple’s chosen color theme—was echoed throughout the floral accents, bridesmaids’ dresses, and vintage décor pieces.

A Perfect Chesapeake Bay Reception
After the heartfelt ceremony, guests were invited to explore the walkable charm of downtown Easton, MD, where historic buildings and boutique shops give the town its signature Chesapeake Bay flair. By the time dinner and dancing began, the ballroom was glowing with candlelight, laughter, and a full dance floor.
This wedding was designed to leave guests remembering three things:
- A beautiful ceremony surrounded by fall colors
- The charm and ease of downtown Easton
- One incredible party
