Amanda and Jesper traveled all the way from Sweden for their William Paca House garden wedding in November. There were so many thoughtful decisions with each detail of Amanda & Jesper’s wedding day. Music was of most importance to these two. Not to mention music brought them together to meet for the first time on the dance floor in Sweden during Amanda’s study abroad. Their dinner menu was very influenced by Jesper’s Swedish heritage and Amanda’s favorite dishes growing up in Maryland. Amanda’s bouquet was from Doepken’s Farm. Weeks after moving from Texas to Maryland, Amanda (then 5 years old) and her brother Pierce were visiting Doepkens’ Farm to pick out a pumpkin when they were photographed by the Washington Post. That week they were featured on the cover of their Anne Arundel Living section. Amanda’s family returned to Doepkens’ Farm every fall, to pick out their pumpkins and visit Farmer Bill and his wife Marjorie, and later young Farmer Bill and his partner Tim. The Crosswind’s Trio echoed through the Paca garden as Amanda walked down the aisle to Jesper and during cocktail hour. It was so neat that Gail Vehslage, flutist for the Crosswinds Trio, was Amanda’s private flute teacher through high school and her conductor when she played for the Chesapeake Youth Symphony’s flute choirs.
