2013 Gratitude List | Life as a Maryland Photographer

January 15, 2013

There are some days I wake up, go through me day, and crawl back into bed…never even remembering to thank my lucky stars!  It is 100% consuming, in a very good way, to own my own photography business, to have a passion for photographs, and to have a personal life filled with my obsession for photographing my life also!

My attempt this year is to take time every day to write down a list of what I am grateful for…It was inspiring when I asked facebookers “What made them happy this morning?”, and within 20-30 minutes there were so many happy comments, things to be grateful for (look below)!  It truly pushed me to see the fact that within 45 minutes of being awake we can all be filled with so much to be thankful for.  A very warm fuzzy feeling…

A little birdy recommended a book to me called “Simple Abundance” by Sarah Ban Breathnach…and so far in the last week it has really given me forced quiet time, which will turn into routine quiet time…therefore one day actually feeling like I had a chance to relax with my cup of coffee!  What a concept right?!  I am sure many of you suffer from not giving yourself any quiet time…it’s the human condition to not feel like we’re busy enough and to constantly be on this race.  Not sure what race you’re on, but I am deciding that 2013 is a race to live my life UP, every minute.

So I am starting each day with a gratitude list from the day before, this will help my little heart remember the beautiful things that happened the day before while planning for the wonderful things I will tackle today.  Can I get a woot woot!!! hehe  Who wants to do this with me?!  If you are wanting 30 minutes each morning to drink coffee, read Simple Abundance, and be grateful; Let’s do it together!

Awww I love this and just might have to steal it!!

What a perfect post! It really is important to take some private time and reflect on all the beautiful things in your life. I am grateful for this wonderful life!

I’m always grateful for my family! Today, I got some extra snuggles from my boys.

Snuggles are the best…love when my nephews are in lovey dovey moods!

My mom constantly tells me I should add quiet time into my routine. Literally those exact words. And that I shouldn’t have my phone around me soooo much. I feel like I should place my order for Simple Abundance now. This sounds like a truly amazing idea.

You will not regret it…It actually makes me smile thinking about the fact that my day starts with a little quiet now and I enjoy my coffee! Instead of rushing into the office or rush rush rushhing! (Amazon has a great deal on it!)

today, I’m grateful for people who support the crazy dog-fostering part of my life 🙂

You will definitely be rewarded in doggy heaven Tpoz…you are one amazing woman
