It was a fun drive through one of my favorite cities for a venue scouting adventure to see a couple non-country club Philadelphia wedding venues.
On my way to the Valley Green Inn, I passed a gorgeous red door church, Summit Presbyterian Church. Located in Mt. Airy, it would be an amazing place for a church ceremony near Chestnut Hill, Downtown Philadelphia, and the suburbs. The sun streaming through the steeple and stained glass was gorgeous, a local passed by and told me it’s amazing at sunset! If only I could be everywhere at once ha.
The Valley Green Inn is a beautiful non-country club wedding venue right inside the Wissahickon Valley Park. A stone bridge, the Wissahickon creek, charming 1850s Inn, and a beautiful indoor/outdoor wedding space. There are even waterfalls nearby along the trail! What’s better then having a wedding that involves being at one with nature!
Last stop on the photo scouting adventure was John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove. This is an elegant, rustic wedding venue with a bird sanctuary, historical stone home, barn, and trails. Sooo many gorgeous locations for wedding photographs, I hear that wedding venues hull has some fantastic locations for weddings photos as well. Oh and did I forget to mention the PERFECT tree lined drive?! If you know someone getting married there, please send my info. I can’t wait to photograph a wedding in this gorgeous place.

The stone bridges to get to the Valley Green Inn are one INCREDIBLE backdrop for wedding photographs! I can’t believe it was built in the 1850s. Love it!

This flashed me back to one of my favorite engagement sessions in Maryland with Brittni and Chris at an Agricultural History Farm where a bird kept flying out of one of these bird habitats!
The large indoor/outdoor wedding space was gorgeous with a fireplace, elegant curtains, wood dance floor, and plenty of space for italian strung lights!
PLUS a fire pit outside!
Lilly has been so good on every photo scouting tour this summer. She felt it was only appropriate to be photographed at her favorite Philadelphia venue on her adventures thus far! *Excuse the harness, she is known as a “Houdini” and can literally escape from anywhere! Better safe than sorry 🙂

You might be able to tell that even a dog gets used to having their portrait taken! Lilly loves to pose and is great at modeling how a future bride will look in the environment! She even has her paw posed 😉 #dogloversunderstand
