Essie & Tim’s Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Museum wedding was truly so special watching them get married just blocks from where they live in Fells point. It was a spring day in summer making for a perfect outdoor ceremony on the Patapsco River near Bond Street Wharf! Essie & Tim got ready at the Admiral Fells Inn and then met in the middle for their first look on Bond Street Wharf. As Essie walked up to Tim it become incredibly clear their connection and how meaningful every spot they chose was to them. They run together along the Baltimore harbor right where we stood for their wedding. Everything came together so beautifully.
I love how Tim surprised Essie for their proposal… From Essie’s viewpoint:
“Christmas of last year, Tim and I had our first Christmas morning in our new home just the two of us (and Boo). The final present Tim gave me was a puzzle. I had a feeling that the puzzle was going to be a proposal, but didn’t want to ruin it if by some chance I was wrong! I was thrown off when the words were not spelling out Will You Marry Me. At the end it was a collage of all 6 of his nieces and nephews holding up signs that spelled out Will You Be Our Auntie Essie? As I put in the final piece, Tim got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the best present I’ve ever gotten! One of the 100 reasons I fell in love with him is his thoughtfulness. He knew how important those kids are to me and how special it would be to involve them in our big day. We then got to go share the wonderful news with my family over Christmas lunch. It was a day we will never forget, and one that we will get to look back on every Christmas together going forward.”
