This week has taken me all over town and my photography walks were pushed to the end of the week! A very fun, exciting, and creative roller coaster week. I met with quite a few inspiring new couples for 2014/2015. Visited my favorite cafe (Bean Rush) to co-work with Maria Linz, another inspiring wedding photographer. Had coffee and lunch dates with some of my favorite wedding industry pro’s, and was even able to have ME time! Woohoo! I am still working out the kinks with my New Project: Photo Walks but as the week flew by I realized, it didn’t need to be a specific day, it just needed to be a walk when I NEEDED it! This morning I had an incredible meeting in Capitol Hill and decided instead of a morning photo walk, to do a sunset photo walk!
What are your thoughts on prioritizing your “you” time and quiet, reflective time? Do you plan time for it, or do you just let it happen organically?!
The sun falls so soft in the winter months and was at the glowy golden hour at about 4:45pm. I found a neat new trail in my neighborhood! So I took one of my new favorite lenses the 50mm f1.2 prime lens. It is a wonderful lens for portraits and street photography! Tack sharp even at low apertures, fast focus, and small/light weight compared to other L series lenses.
Today I took my Canon 5D Mark III and my canon 50mm f1.2 L lens.
I love how this leaf is squashed and embedded into the moss, yet stayed in it’s leafy shape! As if the moss is holding the leaf together…These pompoms were super cool, especially with the aperture at 1.2 so you get that beautiful soft depth of field.
