Anniversary Series – 6 year | New Hope Anniversary Session

December 23, 2015

Samantha & Patrick met me for their New Hope anniversary session to celebrate 6 years dating and 1 year engaged!  Samantha is a local Philadelphia wedding photographer and I was so excited when she was interested in being apart of my anniversary series!  New Hope at Christmas was just the perfect spot for their anniversary photos considering their story began in December.  Patrick and Samantha were both undergrads at Penn State Main Campus when they were introduced at a mutual friends Christmas party.  Patrick ended up coming to visit Samantha over their break for New Years. Samantha is from the Philadelphia area but Patrick is from Upstate New York and very bravely made the trip to visit her and meet her family after knowing each other just a few weeks!  They dated for the rest of the school year and then Patrick graduated and moved to Colorado for a job.  While Samantha finished school they dated long distance and upon her graduation Patrick ended up finding a job in the Philly area!  They have lived in Media together a couple years and were engaged last year, October 19, 2014!  Patrick popped the question at Linvilla Orchards near their home in Media.

Samantha & Patrick had so much fun together from the minute we met in New Hope til the Christmas lights in Peddler’s Village.  Samantha loves that Patrick always makes her laugh. Patrick said that he loves that after 6 years together, “we still always want to spend all of our time together.”

It seems a common theme that laughter is key!  Spending 6 years together from close by to long distance, they made each scenario work.  Many couples who date long distance will say if you can make it through long distance you can make it through anything 🙂  From a proposal, to being engaged, to getting married and a 40 year marriage, a couple things became clear to me.  There are always new mountains to climb and tunnels to get through from one year to 40 years!

More to come in the series, keep an eye out for the next anniversary 🙂

If you haven’t had a photograph of you and your person lately, or taken a day to celebrate your story since your wedding day or first date, it’s definitely time to schedule an anniversary session!  This is what 6 years dating and a year engaged looks like to Samantha & Pat, still playing, compromising, dancing, and laughing together!
