Destination worth visiting – Deep Creek Engagement Photographs
On November 11th I met these two love birds for their Deep Creek Engagement Photographs. Rocky Gap Golf Resort was where they had their first date together! This Resort meant so much to them, it’s also where their parents from Ellicott City & Pittsburgh met for the first time! Perfectly in the middle. They shared so many intimate spots throughout the day, including the next photo location on the list, Deep Creek Lake where he proposed! The proposal spot was a gorgeous corner of the lake overlooking the sunset perfectly, with a gorgeous rocky shore. A week before we met at Deep Creek Lake the hurricane had come through and really affected the coast line, however it did not take away from the natural beauty of the rocks, trees, and mountains in the distance…just amazing.
Deep Creek has now gone on my BEST lists for engagement locations and I will most certainly return this summer. Little do many people know Deep Creek is the best of both worlds, skiing in the winter and beach parties in the summer with mountains as your backdrop! Just like combining Vail and Ocean city! The drive from Annapolis is a little over 3 hours but is definitely worth the trip. I would highly recommend taking at least two nights to enjoy the great restaurants, eclectic atmosphere and boutique shops that line the streets. You really will feel as though you are walking through ski lodges, very comfortable, warm and inviting. I recommend finding restaurants and places to visit before getting there, so you aren’t starving in the morning and have no where on the list and possibly no wifi or cell reception! Bob Evans was just not fitting the bill for us that morning and thankfully my sister and nephews came along with me for the ride and we went exploring for breakfast. Along the way we found the BEST french toast and latte! Hidden away in Cumberland, MD in between the Rocky Gap Resort and the Deep Creek Lake was Cafe Mark of Cumberland, AHhmazing! cafemarkcumberland.com
