Claire and Ryan met me for their engagement session in Elkridge, Maryland at Claire’s family farm. I felt so honored to be asked by Claire to capture her engagement and wedding photos, after being apart of her sister Emily’s wedding in 2015. The family farm property used to be Claire’s grandmother’s and is where her dad grew up. When they were kids, they’d spend a lot of time at her grandmother’s house (Nanny) fishing at the pond, camping out, having bonfires, swimming in the pool, even riding horses in those pastures. When her Nanny passed away Claire’s Mom & Dad moved there and remodeled the old house, adding a huge addition to it. It’s still a place where their families all gather. The day after Ryan and Claire met, she invited a group of people over (including Ryan) to have a bonfire down at the pond. So it was very special to be able to return to the pond and bonfire where Ryan and Claire first started <3 There were many signs that Nanny was watching over. There was a big storm brewing right over head, yet somehow we were given just enough time to accomplish all their photos. Walking around the property, pass the pond, through the trees to the red barn, we walked past a feather on the ground. I mentioned to Claire and Ryan there must have been someone watching over protecting us from the storm giving us JUST enough time before the rain. The skies were beautiful and eerie, the sun even gleamed through the clouds for just a few minutes. It was all just such perfect timing. Editing Claire & Ryan’s photos I noticed a small couple light oddities, some would call an orb. Believe what you wish these little light specks aren’t lens flares or camera tricks. I have no explanation but to think that Nanny was watching over and keeping the storm at bay for her granddaughter Claire.
So thrilled to be apart of Claire & Ryan’s wedding at Elkridge Furnace Inn, the second Snodgrass wedding!
