This South River Maryland wedding was beautifully planned and a total representation of the amazing life Rachel and Brian have built. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, their wedding day was an unforgettable celebration of their love. Laughter, love, and great music filled the air. It was such an honor to photograph and now share their special day with all of you!
How It Began
Brian and Rachel met through mutual friends back in 2016. Rachel’s friend Danielle gave Brian her number. A total matchmaker, wouldn’t you say? They later set up to meet for happy hour with a few friends at Skippers Pier in Dela, MD. The happy hour meet-up went great…So great, in fact, that they set up a Kayayaking trip for the next day. How romantically spontaneous, right?!
Even though they were both hesitant to start a relationship, Brian and Rachel continued seeing each other often, enjoying life on the Bay, and getting to know each other. The beautiful thing about two people who genuinely enjoy each other’s company is that eventually, it clicks. It just clicks that they are totally meant to be! That’s exactly what happened to Brian and Rachel. They hung out constantly and realized that they couldn’t do life without each other. Brian and Rachel officially started dating on May 29th of 2017! What a beautiful start to an amazing journey!
The Proposal
While I’d love to tell you their beautiful proposal story, I’m going to let you read their story from Rachel’s point of view.
“We got engaged during COVID! It was Mother’s Day weekend, May 9, 2020. We had all of our parents over for the first time since COVID had started. We set up tables outside so we could all socially distance ourselves. It was a beautiful day so we grilled out. After dinner, I set out dessert. Before we served dessert, Brian asked everyone to gather around. He started thanking everyone for coming over, I was looking at him so confused and wondering what he was doing. Then in the middle of his speech, he turned to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him!! I cried happy tears and said YES!!”
The Wedding Day
The wedding day was a true testament to their love! The happiness that was embedded in the room as their closest friends and family watched them get married, was absolutely lovely. When we asked Brian and Rachel what they wanted their guests to love about their wedding their answer was simple. They just wanted everyone to let loose and have FUN.
Trust me, that’s exactly what happened. Their friends and family were witnesses of a beautiful love story, all while having a blast on the dance floor.
With every great wedding, comes great vendors. We were honored to be surrounded by amazing vendors who really helped make this day seamless!
