Diana with The College of Physicians, an incredibly charming center city Philadelphia wedding venue was kind enough to give me a private tour! Diana is so personable and you can tell her team takes care of each individual couple thoroughly with no detail overlooked. I was blown away by the gorgeous architecture, amazing location in the heart of Philadelphia near Rittenhouse square, their own medicinal plant gardens, and exquisite vaulted ceilings.
To help with Philadelphia wedding couples planning here’s a few neat details you may not think to ask The College of Physicians. Thank you Diana!
1. What’s one interesting fact about College of Physicians?
It is the oldest professional medical society in the country!
2. What do you have planned for the future?
We’re installing a new Elevator in January! New entrance and facade/landscaping going in in the Spring.
3. Tell me about your favorite wedding last season.
Ahhhh, that’s a tough one!!! One that really stands out is The Mo Civers and Andrew Davis Wedding. They were SO LOVED. It was overwhelming. They were trusting when I suggested décor/rental/food ideas, but also knew what they wanted and held strong to that. Mo’s mother passed away from Cancer the week before the wedding and you could feel her presence there supporting her son and new son in-law. Just beautiful!
4. How far out should a couple pay a deposit to secure your venue for her wedding day?
A deposit is paid when the couple has decided to book the date. We can place a two week hold on any date without charge while they think everything over. 4. What is included when a couple books your venue for their wedding? The whole building for either 5 or 6 hours. Round Dinner Tables, Black Reception Chairs, and access to the Museum during cocktail hour.
5. How do you help couples customize their wedding?
We customize EVERYTHING! I’ve worked on over 50 weddings and not a single one has been alike! We customize all the food, linens, décor, everything!
6. How many guest can you accommodate?
240 in Mitchell Hall for Dinner and Dancing. 350 in Ashhurst and Mitchell Halls for Dinner and Dancing. Upstairs cocktail reception 450. Downstairs cocktail reception inside only 250. Downstairs cocktail reception including the Garden 450.
7. What makes College of Physicians unique?
So many aspects. The beautiful Garden in the middle of Center City, the flow between the outdoor and indoor space. The large ballroom upstairs and the ability to have the entire building for your special day!
