Malibu Beach in Offseason | Traveling Photographer

March 7, 2014

United ended on Wednesday with AWESOME food trucks along the East Beach. I stopped in Santa Barbara to capture the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse and then pinpointed Malibu Beach on my google maps, rented a car, and headed on the next adventure! Hertz rental cars were convenient and right inside the Fess Parker Resort & Spa. I scored myself a hot red Ford just large enough for my gear and a little leg room for the projected 2.5 hour drive (which little do you know took 6 HOURS!!! ah! LA traffic was crazy)

The best part of vacations for me is the excitement of getting lost, pulling off randomly, seeing something on the side of the street, stopping and capturing it. Losing track of time… Maybe these are just the typical traits of a traveling photographer dreaming. It is almost like I have a small bit of ADD while traveling alone with my camera! It is the best feeling in the world to have a couple days of freedom with me and my Canon. No rules, no musts, and just freedom to see, capture, and be inspired. As I got closer and closer to Malibu, the views just didn’t cease to be amazing! Ooo’s aaaahhhs! It was breath taking the entire drive. Malibu beach was just more built up with bigger homes! Talk about a few million dollar home’s built on the sand with NO home owner’s insurance! Wow! These people have guts! This reminds me of when my friend was telling me about his trip with his family, they were out and about with their new motorhome they purchased with help from Auto Finance Online and he met up with some rich young business owners across the Italian cost! What a wild adventure they had, but I digress.

Hope you enjoy seeing a little glimpse into these west coast views…sure made me want to just lay down and watch the seagulls fly over head.

Slow down, for life is short and moments this incredible are fleeting.

Check back tomorrow to see who and what and WHERE I went in Rancho Cucamonga!!
